Assistant Webmaster

Knowledge Institute, leaders in entrepreneurial education and development, currently seek an assistant webmaster to develop, design and maintain multiple website properties and online learning platforms that support venture start-up, growth and sustainability. Knowledge Institute holds multiple awards for supporting small business development and is recognized by government, Fortune 500 companies and nonprofit business assistance agencies as experts in entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities include web site development and design, content publishing and maintenance, feature enhancement, SEO, performance tracking and reporting. This is a temp to perm 30 hour/week [Mon-Thu, 9-5] position with an initial 90 day evaluation and training period, followed by a permanent opportunity with growth potential. Starting compensation $14-16/hour commensurate with experience and skill level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all current web property content, features, SEO, tracking and reporting systems
• Research, publish and update content on a routine basis
• Utilize email marketing platform to maintain subscriber list, publish and distribute bulletins
• Submit content routinely in multiple social media networks
• Web enable online learning course materials
• Document and maintain procedural instructions
• Maintain time management schedule and collaborate with team to support productivity
• Proactively contribute new ideas and support company objectives
• Troubleshoot system and application problems
• Register and maintain domain and hosting accounts for PHP/Apache/MySQL on FreeBSD in a managed/hosted environment
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications

• Webmaster training or equivalent 2+ years web design and development experience
• Proven experience with PHP, CSS, HTML, mySQL and FTP
• Graphic design talent and proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator
• Excellent communication skills verbally and written
• Proven ability to work independently and as a team player
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a dynamic environment
• Keen attention to detail, self-motivation and self-directedness
• Professional manner when dealing with internal and external customers
